Wheels are a great way to reduce the risk of a bad landing causing damage to you or the glider. While not intended to be landed on routinely, if you do drop the glider when you land then if you have wheels on the basebar then it's much more likely to run along the ground rather than the control frame digging in and tipping the glider over. Also for aerotowing or winching, wheels are an essential safety aid, reducing the chances of disaster if you touch the ground after launch.
These pneumatic tyred wheels give even more safety than the split wheel solid plastic type. We have them available in two sizes, 200mm diameter x 50 mm wide and 250mm diameter x 80mm wide. The smaller size will appeal to more experienced pilots while the larger size is ideal for training or anyone wanting extra safety margin.
The bore of these wheels is 35mm but they come with reducers to fit a standard 1 1/8" (28.4mm) base bar as standard. If you do not need these then they can be removed from the options list. Also, if you want to use them with a VG system then choose the option to have one reducer as the VG type.
